#3 St. Paris Graham Crushes #2 Blair Academy 36-21

#2 Blair Academy bumped up the bulk of their lower weights against #3 St. Paris Graham in an attempt to cover a hole at 145. The result, a 21-3 lead at intermission and a final score of 36-21.

After such a dominating performance against Blair, HSWrestling.Net will have to run down a mythical match up before releasing their next set of team rankings.

Dennis Hastert among those honored at Wrestling Hall of Fame

An Iowa wrestling museum has inducted several athletes into its hall of fame and honored a former high-profile politician from Illinois.

A crowd of amateur and professional wrestlers gathered Saturday at the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum in Waterloo.

Those inducted into the new Alan and Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions included 1984 Olympic champions Steve Fraser and Jeff Blatnick and 1995 world champion Dennis Hall.

Former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, an Illinois Republican, was also honored. He received the Sport of Lincoln Award for his contributions to the sport.

Sherman gets National Wrestling Hall of Fame call

Marty Sherman has dedicated more than four decades to high school wrestling.

Today, that work will be recognized when the Saratoga High School graduate is inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, through its New York chapter in a ceremony in Syracuse.

“It’s certainly humbling and a great honor for people to have recognized the contributions I’ve made,” said Sherman, who now resides in Queensbury.

Sherman graduated from Saratoga in 1961 and from Ithaca College, where he was a physical education and hygiene major, in January 1966.
