When: February 14 – 16, 2013

• Thursday-Saturday

Where: Champaign, IL

• Assembly Hall

What: Individual State Tournament

The 2013 Illinois Wrestling State Championships begin today at Assembly Hall in Champaign, with Class 1A preliminary matches at 2:30 p.m., Class 2A matches at 4:30 p.m. and Class 3A matches at 6:30 p.m. The tournament runs through Saturday with Championship Finals matches beginning at 7 pm.

State Tournament Schedule:

Thursday - First Session

• 2:30 p.m.—Class 1A Preliminaries (6 mats)
• 4:30 p.m. (approx.)—Class 2A Preliminaries (6 mats)
• 6:30 p.m. (approx.)—Class 3A Preliminaries (6 mats)
• (Continuous wrestling once wrestling begins at 2:30 p.m.)

Friday - Second Session

• 8:30 a.m.—Quarterfinals (1A-2A-3A)
• 1:00 p.m.—First Round Wrestlebacks (1A-2A-3A) (6 mats)

Third Session

• 7:00 p.m.—Semifinals Championship Round (1A-2A-3A)

Saturday - Fourth Session

• 9:00 a.m.—Quarterfinal Wrestlebacks (1A-2A-3A)
• 11:00 a.m.—Semifinal Wrestlebacks (1A-2A-3A)
• 1:00 p.m.—3rd-4th-5th-6th matches (1A-2A-3A)

Fifth Session

• 6:30 p.m.—Grand March followed by Championship matches (1A-2A-3A) on 3 mats
• Starting weight class: 170
