St. Ignatius’ George DiCamillo (No. 1 @ 120) entered this weekend’s Tool City Wrestling Tournament as the No. 1-ranked 120-pounder in the nation. And he did not fail to impress, being named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Class AAA field. (St. Ignatius is a Division I school in Ohio, the biggest division in the state.)
DiCamillo won the title with a 4:47 fall over Boiling Springs freshman Grant Bond. DiCamillo, who also won Tool City in 2010, had three pins and one technical fall during his latest title run.
It was Copeland’s third Tool City championship, making him the first wrestler from Greenville to pull off the trifecta.
Both OWs already have their college plans locked in. DiCamillo — who is 135-7 for his career — signed with the University of Virginia this fall. And Copeland — who ran his record to 147-12 — has a full ride to Lock Haven University.
