Being ranked by HSWrestling.Net is not only something to be very proud of, the fact is it can get you a scholarship. HSWrestling.Net is visited by more college coaches, recruiters, and fans than all of our competition combined and as a result, being ranked in our rankings will more often than not lead to college coaches calling.
Rankings are a fun element of amateur wrestling and there are a variety of different ways people look at them. Wrestlers, coaches, and parents can gauge where their wrestler stands nationally and build from there. They should never be considered ‘the best you can do’, but more as where your mat history has gotten you so far. College coaches and their recruiting partners review our rankings to gauge your growth each year and see how you compare with the other athletes at your weight.
As the leading rankings organization we take our job very seriously because of how much really hinges on a solid national ranking and ‘HSW Recruiting Stats’ score. We fully realize college coaches routinely check our rankings and stats system for up to date weight class ratings and we do our best to provide not only the most accurate but also the most timely and cost effective recruiting tools available.
Large wrestling magazine publications have a readership of between 25-35k monthly viewers. In the month of February alone HSWrestling.Net had nearly 600,000 unique viewers and over 130,000 of them went directly to our rankings pages. Our reach nationally is unbelievably lopsided – providing free access to millions of viewers each season. Non-members can view our top 60 recruits and their HSW Recruiting stats as well as all of our national weight class rankings from 103 pounds to heavyweight completely free of charge.
As the 2011-2012 recruiting season approaches be sure to reach out to our rankings department with any information that may help your wrestler’s ranking. Providing us with video highlights, past match history, and a list of victories (with results URL) over ranked wrestlers will assist us in creating a more accurate representation of your wrestler’s ranking and recruiting stats.
