Beyond the history and controversy surrounding the first two girls to compete at the traditional state wrestling tournament Thursday, there was plenty to talk about in Class 3-A.
Tyler Feller of Council Bluffs Lewis Central pulled off a big upset and the most stunning comeback of the tournament when he pinned top-ranked 125-pounder Tanner Werner (H.M. @ 125) of Waverly-Shell Rock.
Feller, who has a class-best 49 wins, trailed 11-0 at the end of the second period but made sure the score didn’t matter.
“I didn’t get out of my head and I locked up a move I use a lot and put him on his back,” Feller said.
