Clovis High is this years 2011 Don Buchanan Invitational champions as they dominate the individual competition with 220 points. Oakdale and Selma rounded out the top 3, but it was the absence of Bakersfield near the top that left people with questions. Injuries to 3 top varsity starters left Bakersfield wondering what could have been.
“Bakersfield is the team to beat [at state]. But this showed we’re for real and I feel really good about it. Today, we were pretty good, but you’ve got to be pretty good on two days and those two days are in March [at state],” said Clovis coach Steve Tirapelle……..
