#4 Apple Valley, MN tops #3 Waverly Shell-Rock, IA 36-30

In the first meet, Apple Valley’s strong start and some bonus points were key in beating Waverly-Shell Rock for the second time this season.

The Eagles beat Iowa’s No. 1 Class 3-A team 29-20 at “The Clash” tournament in Rochester, Minn., last month, but the Go-Hawks won the overall championship on criteria.

The Eagles got the bonus points off pins by brothers Tom and Craig Kelliher and Justin LaValle plus a technical fall by Matt Mincey in matches that they won by decision in the first go-round.

A Buy Cialis Online meet-opening major decision by Eric Devos at 103 and consecutive pins by Tom Kelliher at 125 and LaValle at 130 helped the Eagles build a 22-0 lead after five matches.

Apple Valley’s lead grew to 36-7 before Lee Averhoff started a flurry of points for the Go-Hawks by pinning David Maxwell at 171. Dylan Wrage got a technical fall at 189, Cody Krumwiede notched a pin at 215 and Eric Thompson, the nation’s top-ranked high school heavyweight, bear-hugged Nick Larson for a pin in the final match.
